ROUTE 1: ANCIENT OLYMPIA

Ancient Olympia is the birthplace of the Olympic Games. Tradition has it that the first Olympic Games took place in 766 BC. Among the most important buildings in Ancient Olympia are the Roman Propylon, the Prytaneion , the Philippeion, Heraion - where the sculpture Hermes of Praxiteles was found - and the largest Temple of Zeus. The Archaeological Museum of Olympia is also very close to the site. Ancient Olympia is 120 km from the port of Patras and we will stay in the area for 3 hours.

ROUTE 2: PORT, AGIOS ANDREAS, ANCIENT ODEON, ARCHAEOLOGICAL MUSEUM, RIO-ANTIRRIO BRIDGE, RIO CASTLE, ACHAIA CLAUSS-PORT

The two Churches of the Patron Saint of Patras, Agios Andreas, are places of pilgrimage for the entire Hellenic and Orthodox world. The new church is the largest in the Balkans and can accommodate 5,500 people. The Ancient Odeon of Patras was discovered in 1889 and its restoration was completed in 1956. The Archaeological Museum of Patras is the second largest archaeological museum in Greece. The Charilaos Trikoupis Bridge is a 21st century landmark in Greece. The Rio Castle was built in 1499. Finally, we visit Achaia Clauss which has been a winery since 1861 and has been visited by notable and important people from all around the world. The distance from the port of Patras is 40 km.

ROUTE 3: PORT, RIO-ANTIRRIO BRIDGE, NAVPAKTOS, GALAXIDI, DELPHI

We set off from the port and after 10 km we arrive at the Rio-Antirrio bridge. This crossing is a 21st century landmark of Greece and it radically changed the geopolitical and economic landscape of the region. It is the largest cable-stayed bridge in the world, with a 2,252 meter main deck. After that we head for the historic city of Nafpaktos and, as we get near to Delphi, picturesque Galaxidi. This sea-faring area has a history going back 4000 years. Finally, in Delphi at the foot of Mount Parnassos, we arrive at the pan-Hellenic Sanctuary of Delphi and the home of Ancient Greece’s most famous oracle.
We travel 120 km from the port of Patras and we will stay in the area for 3 hours.
